Surgeons who are proficient in the direct anterior approach say there are very few total hip arthroplasty (THA) cases for which they would not use their preferred approach. Lee E. Rubin, MD, from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, demonstrated that at the 8th Annual Direct Anterior Approach Hip Course, where he presented a series of challenging patients who underwent direct anterior approach THA at his institution.
