Minimizing the Risk of Vascular Injury in TKA
The good news is that vascular injury is a rare occurrence in total knee arthroplasty.
The bad news is that if it does occur, it can have catastrophic consequences for the patient.
We asked Joshua T. Carothers, MD, from New Mexico Orthopaedics Center for Joint Replacement in Albuquerque, to share his thoughts on how surgeons can minimize the risk, as well as what to do if a vascular injury occurs.
