FEATURED SURGERY: TKA with a Next-Generation Patient-Specific Knee Implant System

Robert J. Tait, MD, from the Orthopaedic Institute of Henderson in Henderson, Nevada, performs a total knee arthroplasty with a patient-specific implant system on the right knee of a 71-year-old male patient with advanced end-stage osteoarthritis of the medial compartment, in a procedure broadcast live to attendees at ICJR’s 12th Annual Winter Hip & Knee Course.

The patient had had his left knee replaced by Dr. Tait 4 years prior to this surgery. Radiographs, including weight-bearing views, showed that the right knee had loss of joint space, sclerosis, diffuse spurring, and widespread degenerative changes.
