    FEATURED SURGERY: Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

    Mark A. Mighell, MD, from the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, performs a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty on the right shoulder of a 61-year-old female patient in a procedure broadcast live from ICJR’s 7th Annual Shoulder Course.

    The patient has a history of 2 failed rotator cuff repairs on the right shoulder. She now has pseudoparalysis of that shoulder, with forward flexion of 70°, abduction of 60°, external rotation of 0°, and internal rotation to the back pocket. She also has a positive Hornblower’s sign. She reports her pain as a 9 out of 10.
