Diagnosing a Suspected PJI in Joint Replacement Patients

We asked 3 experienced joint replacement surgeons – Javad Parvizi, MD, FRCS, from the US; Jean-Noël Argenson, MD, PhD, from France; and Carsten Perka, MD, from Germany – to share their protocols for assessing a patient with a suspected periprosthetic joint infection. They also discuss the steps surgeons can take pre-, intra-, and postoperatively to minimize the risk of infection.
