    Advice on DVT Prophylaxis after Joint Replacement Surgery

    Orthopaedic surgeons know joint replacement patients need deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis following surgery. What’s less clear is the optimum means of providing DVT prophylaxis, as well as the duration of prophylaxis.

    Jay Lieberman, MD, from Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, offers his insights on DVT prophylaxis based on current guidelines.
